So the first outing of the fight calendar 2017 saw The Fighting Tigers take 9 fighters to the Nemesis Gym Show. This was the first bouts for 6 of the 9 competing and they certainly did not look out of place against their much more experienced and some heavier opponents. Lucy Brown and Megan Hawkesley where using this as a good warm up to there full contact débuts on Pantheon Fight Series on March 4th at Sussex Coast College and certainly did what they needed to do against a 15 bout fighter who was 10kg heavier! the only other fighter with any experience was Tom Boeck who also fought a much heavier and more experienced fighter and this was without doubt a war but both guys enjoyed every second of it. Also fighting and having there first fights for the club were, Soloman Jenner, Ryan Angear, Tom Edir, Jack Flaherty & Max Foord-Paten and fighting in the last fight of the day was the oldest member of the team making his début at the young age of 52yrs old Alan Brown who certainly did not look out of place against his much more experienced and younger opponent who new he was in a fight. Head Instructor Andy Chambers said ‘Today was all about experience and there was certainly no tippy tappy fights, everyone was in a proper fight today and will have all gained vital experience and I am very excited about seeing how they move forward from here’
